
Almost three years ago I moved to Sudbury, Ontario to attend Laurentian University to get a Masters degree. When I moved there I hated it. It's not secret to anyone that knows me. But now almost three years later, after having moved back to Toronto I have to give the city of Sudbury it's due. The fact is that I did not give the city a chance when I first moved there, and why would I? All my friends were here! What did I know about Sudbury except that it definately wasn't Toronto and that apparently it stank like sulphur because of the nickel mines (which is not actually true). Oh yeah, and that it had a gigantic nickel.
It took me time, but begrudgingly I actually began to warm up to Sudbury (except in their killer winters). At first I used to say, "Well I don't hate it" and now 2 and 1/2 years later I actually find myself thinking about it and sort of missing it. Of course I know it would not have been as tolerable at first had it not been for Bobby and Billy who were amazing friends to this "stuck up city girl." So thank you Sudbury, Bobby, Julie and Billy you actually gave me some great perspective and now I can't wait for Bobby and Julie's wedding in Sudbury. Mazel Tov guys! So happy for you!

Hopefully I will be able to go up there while still warm and I will take you to the beautiful lake to swim in- which is in the city and swimable- unlike our dear Lake Ontario
