So Mazel Tov to me, I've gotten a new job. I think. They were supposed to check my references then offer me the job so I will start on Tuesday..... apparently they haven't checked my references yet and I'm not sure where to go on Tuesday. Oh well it will all get figured out in good time.
So the job is for Hillel- not Halal- as some of my friends strangely believe.
In fact yesterday I had a conversation with Balderson who is visiting (and should really just move back here already- but opportunity is knocking for him so I understand) and I let him know that I got this new job with Hillel- in his defence I was on a cell phone downtown at rush hour- so he's like Halal? And I said no, Hillel. To which he said so you're going to start cutting meat or something? Oy. Yes I've spent the last 7 years getting my Honours Bachelor and my Masters in order to cut meet for the Muslim community. Which might actually be very lucrative I realize. However this is not included in my job description.
And some of you may laugh at my dear friend, BUT, he was not the only one to get confused and I've had some very interesting conversations with people who seem to believe that I will be working for Halal- although in what capacity and how one works for Halal is still a mystery to me..... Hmmm.... well if Hillel doesn't work out.......
So happy Balderson is back though! I miss him and so sad when he moved away! Yay Balderson!

LOL. I think it would have been even funnier if a Muslim person applied to work at Hillel under such a misapprehension. That would make me howl with laughter--especially if that person were hired.
